About Us
Gary Pearson was fascinated by electronics at school. He knew early on that he wanted to work with electrical machines, so he began his engineering education at Ford Motor Company with an electrical engineering apprenticeship and studied at Halton Technical College. He stayed at Fords for ten years after qualifying and trained to maintain a large number of lathes, mills, grinders, gear hobbers, shapers, and laser welders.
Next, he became a specialist electrical/electronic service engineer for a major German Machine Tool manufacturer, installing, servicing and repairing their full range of 5 axis machining centres, gantry mills and VTL machines. This included some of the most innovative machinery in the world, for customers such as BAE Systems, and used to build parts for advanced fighter jets – truly cutting-edge.
Later he ran a retrofit and rebuild department with a UK servicing company. His role was refurbishing old machinery, retrofitting new control systems and upgrading or reengineering them to the customers requirements.
He worked at blue chip companies across the UK, Europe and North America in the aerospace, automotive industries, and the fast-paced F1 racing industry. He also undertook some large-scale projects for the nuclear, defence and power generation sectors.
He founded Effective CNC Solutions in 2017.
The business focuses on CNC system design, and looks to create innovative systems that work better, faster and more economically.
Gary has designed and built his own unique CNC hybrid additive milling machine, the first of its kind, which is very close to being introduced to the market.
The few hours that he does allow himself to relax, Gary loves hill walking, cycling and scuba diving. He also likes to both make and play guitars, having been in a rock band a while back. (He admits the band weren’t all that good, but they had a lot of fun).
